I just thought I’d post some links to some excellent Patapon walkthroughs and guides. If you’re stuck at any point in the game then you should certainly be able to find some help from the following links.

Nice, simple, concise walkthrough. You should be able to get a general idea here for what is needed to beat certain parts of the game.

If you’re looking for information on any weapons, armour or horses in the game then look no further than this guide.

Very in-depth walkthrough as well as information on other aspects of the game including weapons/equipment, items, materials, Patapon creation and more.

Possibly even more in-depth than the walkthrough above, you should certainly be able to find what you’re looking for in one of them!

There are a few other walkthroughs, guides and FAQs out there, but I think that with the ones mentioned above you shouldn’t really need any others! Of course if I find any others that I think will add any more to the above then I will post them here.

Over the next week or so I will be posting in-game videos of each level to help even further.

“In an interview with Famitsu Magazine, Patapon 2 developer Hiroyuki Kotani has revealed that the sequel will include roughly twice as much content as the original game. This means more levels, more bosses, and more playable characters.”

How great will that be? I spent 20+ hours playing the first Patapon and probably didn’t even discover half the weapons and other items, so I can see Patapon 2 eating up quite a bit of my time when it’s released… oh well!

Plus, and this will no doubt be some welcome news for those who liked the game but found it a tad too hard, Patapon 2 will go some way to making things just a little easier:

“Kotani has included some features to make the game more accessible to rhythm game n00bs like us, such as a more relaxed timing system and visual cues for beats.”

I know this will make some of the guys at work happy…

“Without a doubt, four-player ad-hoc multiplayer is the biggest new addition to the Patapon sequel, tentatively titled Patapon 2. The idea behind the co-op multiplayer mode is simple. In Patapon 2’s single-player story mode, you’ll occasionally come across giant eggs — some of which contain helpful items, some of which hold smaller eggs inside. In order to hatch these suckers, you’ll have to team up with other players and navigate a special enemy-laden multiplayer battleground, using the traditional pata-pata-pata-pon drumbeat to heft the egg forward and defending it whenever monsters loom nearby. Once you arrive at the special egg-hatching altar at the end of the field, all four players will perform a hatching ceremony, a sort of tribal drumline where everyone has to match their rhythms together to crack open the egg. ”
